New Year Houseparty 2010/11
Join us for a Traditional Island Hogmanay with plenty of Fun, Feasting and Fireworks for all!
New Year is always a big event in Scotland but here at Duisdale House Hotel we celebrate Hogmanay with real aplomb! Our three night Houseparty has all the ingredients for a fabulous party; Bucks Fizz Reception, 4 Course Highland Banquet and Fireworks at Midnight to bring in the New Year.
There’s plenty time for leisurely breakfasts and gentle walks to explore the beautiful countryside or more energetic pursuits for those who feel the need! If you’re looking for a really special, Island Hogmanay Houseparty - then look no further and book your room today!

Upgrades to Twin/Double with Woodland/Garden View , Four Poster with Woodland/Garden View, Four Poster with Sea View and The Garden Suite are available for £25, £40, £50 & £60 per person, per night, respectively. A booking fee of £150 per person is requested when you reserve your room with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to your stay.
Romantic Christmas Escape Programme
Friday 24th December
- Arrive after 3pm to enjoy afternoon tea and scones
- We’ve arranged for some Carol Singers to entertain us in the early evening
- Drinks Reception before dinner to meet fellow guests and also Anne & Ken your hosts.
- Superb 3 course Candlelit dinner in the restaurant.
Saturday 25th December
- Christmas morning starts with breakfast served in the Dining room
- This morning we’ve arranged a guided walk locally, a romantic stroll to Knock castle.
- Indulgent, traditional Four-course Christmas Day Lunch
- A relaxing afternoon where you can explore the surrounding area. There is also the chance to relax by the fire and play the usual board games in the lounge
- This evening we have arranged a delicious buffet for dinner.
- Afterwards it’s party night with fun and games for all!
Sunday 26th December
- Boxing Day begins with late breakfast
- The rest of the day is yours to relax, or enjoy an activity
- Return to the hotel for a late afternoon of Whisky Tasting
- Enjoy a delicious Three-course dinner in the restaurant
Monday 27th December
- Full Scottish breakfast to prepare you for your journey home
Highland Hogmanay Package
Thursday 30th December 2009
- Arrive at your Island Hotel and check in.
- This evening is a relaxed affair and you’ll have time to unwind after dinner with a fine wine or a Malt whisky in front of the open fire. Time to chat to your fellow Houseparty Guests and discuss plans for the next few days.
Friday 31st December 2009
- Today why not take a trip to the north of the island and marvel at the stunning MacLeod Tables and the awesome Cuillin Range in the West. Visit some of the local arts and crafts shops and pick up a souvenir or two.
- Back at the hotel, afternoon Tea and Scones are served by the fire
- The night kicks off at 8.00pm with a Bucks Fizz reception and follow with a superb 4-course Highland Banquet and continues with bringing in the New Year.
- At Midnight we have Fireworks to top the bill and then the celebrations can continue until the Wee sma hours for those who wish.
Saturday 1st January 2010
- Leisurely substantial Brunch served through to 1pm for those who want a bit of a lie in.
- Why not take a stroll along to historic Knock Castle to brush the cobwebs away with the fresh highland air or a gently walk through the woodland at Duisdale! The rest of the day is your’s to explore the countryside or just relax with your favourite book in front of the fire.
- This evening after dinner we have our local fiddler serenading us from the bottom of the stairs.

- Full Scottish breakfast to prepare you for your journey home.
